one of the musical bibles for some of us back in the mid 80s was the 'up all night' double LP of northern soul-a great accompianemt to those Kent soul comps-you can't beat track one side one and I used to sing this at the top of my voice drunk rampaging through London back streets in search of any illumination that could pierce my eager young dumb heart

What a joy to find this on bandcamp, having missed out on the vinyl rerelease. I'd only heard Strawberry Window prior to this, but I love that song and have done since first hosting it on Radio Scotland, back in the late 80s. This is exactly my kind of music, layered, anthemic guitars and great melodies. At times, it brings to mind another great lost band, The Train Set. Fabulous stuff. richardw27

Me & Magdalena has always been a favourite RPP cover for me. Evocative of a dusty road movie, with distant state lines, sunsets, canyons and oceans; a glorious song about love, memories, loss, regrets and the tantalising, unknown possibilities and pleasures of the future. And I love the LDR cover, too! A sensual, fabulous collection of covers. Thanks, Glenn. broseleyimp
Dreamy, intricate guitar pop from Oakland's Absent City; splashes of accordion, sitar, lap steel, and mandolin add textural richness. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 26, 2020
